Harbor Wholesale Execs to Lead DSC Session on Foodservice Opportunities

Justin Erickson and Ryan Peters of Harbor Wholesale Foods, Lacey, WA, will lead a special AWMA-sponsored session on foodservice opportunities for distributors at the 2012 Distribution Solutions Conference (DSC) October 29-31 in Las Vegas, NV.

That session, entitled Jump on the Fresh Food Bandwagon, will be one of four special seminars sponsored by AWMA at the DSC, which AWMA sponsors with the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA). The other sessions will focus on compliance with the new Food Safety Modernization Act, increasing operational and labor efficiency in an each-pick system, and hi-tech solutions to manage fleet operations.

Harbor Wholesale Foods, which has an innovative and successful foodservice operation for its customers, recently completed construction of a new warehouse facility, expanding from 75,000 sq. ft. to 210,000 sq. ft. The session will discuss the exploding demand for fresh products in c-stores, fresh food merchandising strategies, and freshness throughout the delivery cycle.

Veteran foodservice journalist Caroline Perkins recently interviewed Erickson for IFDA in preparation for this session. To read her report, please click here.
