Outside of the classroom, Connor helped with high school theatre productions, assisted with establishing a church youth group and participated in a business leadership camp. Additionally, Connor was appointed as the Boone Community School District Calligrapher of 2010.
Noted Connor's English Honors teacher, "One of Connor's most impressive traits is his ability to interact well with people. He is polite, kind, interested in others, and quick with a smile. His outgoing nature will serve him well in college and in the business world." Connor's father, Jerry Nystrom, is the Director of Marketing at Farner-Bocken Company in Carroll, IA.
